π‘ OpenTelemetry Collector Guides
Time to get your traces flowing! This guide will show you exactly how to hook your applications into our observability stack.
(Curious about supported languages? See the official OpenTelemetry documentation.)
π€ Sending Tracesβ
To get your distributed traces recorded, your services must be configured to point exclusively to the External OpenTelemetry Collector.
- π Service Endpoint:
http://infra-otel
Just pick the port that matches your protocol:
- 4317 - gRPC
- 4318 - HTTP
π§Ή Automatic Trace Filtering (We do it for you!)β
Great news: You do not need to write messy code to filter out noisy health checks or Prometheus scrape endpoints (like /metrics or /health) in your app! π
Our Internal Collector is already configured to automatically drop spans hitting these common URLs:
healthlivenessmetrics
Why? This keeps our tracing backend fast, uncluttered, and cost-effective, saving you from writing duplicate filtering logic across all your microservices! π
